When Choosing a School

Growing up in a small community means options are limited. You get what you get. But then change happens. The community grows and options start to come. And never having had options before, how do you know what you want?

There are not many school options in Sheridan County, and we want to start a charter school to create more options for families. Once Cloud Peak Academy starts, how do you know if you should enroll your students? 

Here are some questions to ask:

• Does the school mission and vision fit what I want for my child?
• What does it mean for a school to be accredited?
• Does the class size matter?
• How involved do I want to be with the school?
• Even though there is no tuition, are there other costs?
• Do teachers have degrees in the subject they teach?
• What is the learning environment like?
